Tulane University School of Medicine Tulane Medicine
Tulane Medicine magazine cover and spread

Tulane Medicine, a fixture of Tulane University School of Medicine for many years, suspended publication several years ago. In the mid-90s, the magazine was a healthy 36 pages, appearing two or three times a year. Tulane approached Zehno to redesign their magazine to match the quality of Tulanian, the university magazine, and educate Tulane medicine alumni, faculty and staff, and the community about the initiatives and progress in the school.

Working in collaboration with key members of the School of Medicine, Zehno focused the editorial approach on a mix of medical education, research, clinical developments and community outreach. The redesign includes a letter from the dean, a news section, robust feature stories, an alumni section, and a highly visual compendium of numbers-based facts about the school with a “did you know” approach to useful information.

While the design is under the general umbrella of the Tulane “look,” it also is distinctive enough to differentiate it from other Tulane professional school magazines, reflecting and defining the School of Medicine’s own brand.

The first issue of the magazine will hit mailboxes (and desks) in March 2008.
