In 2001 The Brothers of Holy Cross, South-West Province contracted Zehno to develop a cross-media communications campaign about their mission, works and vocation opportunities. Even Catholics can be unaware of religious option of becoming a Brother, or of the differences between religious orders, so this campaign needed to build brand awareness.
After an initial discovery phase for the Province’s new Web site, Zehno developed core elements of an identity system: a visual identity with “youth appeal,” inspirational photography shot in three states and the tagline, “Spread your wings. Anchor your soul.” A distinctive picture of the lifestyle and qualities of this community emerged during numerous interviews, which Zehno turned into copy for the Web site and a growing archive of profiles that convey the Brothers’ breadth of experience — from teaching to legislative advocacy, career counseling, parish work and house building for the poor. Using these elements, Zehno also created advertising to drive people to the Web site, posters with take-ones, and brochures.
Today Zehno continues to partner with the Province, creating 12 new profiles and continuing consulting the Web site each year and designing a logo for the latest Chapter meeting in 2003.
