Columbia Business School: Columbia Ideas at Work
Graphics to be selected. Kathy, your recommendations, please!

Connecting research to real-world situations is a constant challenge for professionals at academic institutions.

Columbia Business School’s faculty members are certainly among the most well-regarded and published in the world. The school wanted to showcase their work in venues outside the usual suspects of scholarly publications and papers.

The school came to Zehno with this overall goal of promoting its intellectual capital. Working closely with Columbia’s project team, Zehno helped form and define the strategy, message and tools with which the school could accomplish its goal.

Zehno’s work and recommendations included

  • name and logo development for the initiative, Columbia Ideas at Work
  • printed newsletter
  • e-mail newsletter
  • Web site architecture and design
  • RSS feeds
  • illustration
  • editorial support
  • launch advertising — print ads and postcards
  • integration with other school Web assets

Three months after launch, the project has received positive coverage in BusinessWeek and relevant blogs.

“Zehno helped us flesh out our vision for the project and then provided consistently high-quality services,” said Stefanie Condie, Columbia’s project manager. “Thanks to Zehno’s strategic, forward-thinking approach and attention to detail, we were able to launch a product that the School can be proud of.”
