Challenge

As Champlain faces a demographic decline in its historic New England market, it’s moving to regionalize its recruiting — and planning to move toward a more national profile. In publications and in person, Champlain told its story well. However, the Web site didn’t capture “the people” — the creative, interactive faculty and students who are passionate about their subjects and are entrepreneurial in spirit.

Solution

We redesigned a Web site that:

  • Serves as a primary communications tool that articulates the college’s brand for all audiences and specifically supports Champlain’s undergraduate admissions goals.
  • Creates a content-rich experience that integrates student and faculty contributions and mirrors the interactivity on campus.
  • Tells Champlain’s story through a creative mix of multimedia and strategic messaging.
  • Creates a structure that is adaptable as themes, workflow and community-generated content evolve.

Results

The Web site launched in August 2008. Zehno and Champlain will be gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback. Shortly after launch, edustyle.net highlighted the site as Noteworthy based on positive feedback.

Zehno brought their vast knowledge of higher education marketing and Web 2.0 to the project.

That coupled with a very well managed, talented and organized team have always delivered great work, kept us on task and firmly established a true partnership.
