With almost 10 years of design experience working in the advertising industry, Maria is well-versed in the art of weaving in innovative and fresh approaches with logical and disciplined design techniques. Tasked with making creative connections with an audience through both print and electronic means, Maria relies on effective problem-solving skills that make her invaluable when collaborating with clients, coworkers, photographers or printers. Maria grew up in the culturally rich area of Panama City, Panama. Speaking two languages (Spanish/English) and working across different cultures has given her an edge when designing for different markets. A member of American Institute of Graphic Arts since 2003, Maria has served as a membership director of AIGA: New Orleans Chapter. She’s volunteered her time to undergraduate design portfolio reviews for several universities in New Orleans. Maria is also part of the AIGA Diversity task force, which was launched to actively include designers of diverse ethnic backgrounds in the organization. Maria and her husband, Josh, are the proud parents of their new baby boy, Nicolas. Passionate about both her family and visual communication and aesthetics, she loves incorporating balance and design into her daily routine. She’s found perfect outlets in Bikram yoga and cooking. Maria earned her BFA degree in Design Communications at Texas Tech University. |
