Before joining Zehno, Lauren spent four years as an art director for Martha Stewart’s magazines, where she collaborated with everyone involved in the creation of stories, from editors and photographers to food stylists and pet trainers. Her craftiness extended to the markets of New York City, where she sold handmade cards as well as clothing and bags made from recycled oilcloth and vintage linens.

A diverse design background gives Lauren the know-how and the knack for creative problem-solving. Her experience includes book design, product development, branding and packaging for consumer electronics companies and the development of Wetnoz Pet Products, a modern pet product line that’s sold at Target.

Her work has garnered awards from AIGA Austin, the Austin Advertising Federation, the Society of Publication Designers, HOW Magazine and Step Inside Design. She’s been featured in Design Secrets: Packaging, Moving Type: Designing for Type and Space and How Magazine.

Lauren is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design. She also attended Massachusetts College of Art and New England School of Photography. Although Lauren’s lived in Houston, Austin, Cambridge, Boston and New York City, New Orleans will always be her home. Her family has lived in South Louisiana since the 1800s!

Her favorite pastimes include Cajun dancing, baking (she’s a certified Gambino’s junior baker), practicing yoga and gardening (her basil is more than five feet tall and tastes amazing). Last, but not least, Lauren enjoys raising her pets: two Russian Blue cats named Charlie Byrd Parker and Mini Mignonette and a Border Collie/Belgian Shepherd named Rosa Parks.
