Here at Zehno, we believe in supporting our fellow creatives. This summer, we’re lending office space to our friends at YA/YA, Inc. (Young Aspirations/Young Artists). YA/YA, Inc. is a non-profit arts and social service organization whose mission is to provide educational experiences and opportunities that empower artistically talented inner-city youth to be professionally self-sufficient through creative self-expression. Paulette Hurdlik, one of Zehno’s Managing Partners, is President of the Board of Directors. YA/YA is currently working with eight interns from the Jefferson Youth Foundation and YA/YA’s high school artists to produce their second “Coming Home” mural depicting their stories of home. YA/YA guides these youths through the mural design and production process in series of workshops, in which the artists write about their communities, brainstorm designs, and fabricate and paint mural panels. The lead designer, along with senior artists, complete the finishing touches and install the mural at the designated location. Learn more about YA/YA.
