New Orleans Education communications consultant Zehno saw some classroom action recently when staff members visited St. Marks Street Academy, a local public charter school. Larissa Rachel, Mary Sullivan and Karen Buck teamed with Michael Harris, a software engineer, to help students create group Web pages and promotional postcards. Students were first divided into groups. Then, they posed for photos taken by a digital camera. After, they brainstormed identity copy and visuals, using computer software to design a Web page and postcard. Each student walked away with the postcard featuring the address of the site www.zehno.com/streetacademy/. The presentations goal was to give students a taste of and demonstrate the accessibility of a career in communications. Zehno, with headquarters in New Orleans, is an integrated marketing communications company specializing in developing print and Web strategies and tools for institutions with an educational mission. Its portfolio of clients includes Columbia Business School, Columbia University School of Social Work, The Graduate Management Admission Council (Washington, DC), Dominican University (California), Population Action International (Washington, DC), and Volunteers of America (Washington, DC), among other colleges, universities, independent schools, museums, associations, and other not-for-profits worldwide.
