New Orleans The New Orleans Saints NFL football team recently announced that Larissa Rachel, Zehno project manager and volunteer for the Childrens Bureau of New Orleans, is the New Orleans Saints 2001 Saints / NFL Community Quarterback award winner. Rachel, a volunteer at the Childrens Bureau since 1998, has given her time weekly with the Project LAST program. Every Monday night, she organizes play activities and offers support to children while their parents attend a support group for adults survivors of homicide victims. The children can range from one to 17 years old. The Childrens Bureau received an $11,000 donation from the NFL as a result of the award. The honor was created to recognize community and youth volunteers who demonstrate leadership, dedication and commitment to bettering their communities.
