GED Testing Service

Challenge
GED Testing Service is undergoing two exciting challenges. First, it’s developing a new GED test, more rigorous and comprehensive than ever before. It needed to lay the groundwork for improving public perception about the value of the GED credential.
The organization also recently transitioned from a non-profit program within the American Council on Education to a for-profit organization through a joint venture with Pearson, a corporate leader in educational testing. The new organization needed to communicate that its original mission of serving the test taker community was not diminished by its new structure.
Solution
Zehno began with a transitional visual identity program that repositioned the organization as contemporary, forward thinking and sharp. The infographic style showcases research, highlighting the important role of the GED credential in the American educational landscape. Follow-up materials for GED Testing Service’s annual conference reinforced the new visual identity, and featured test takers as strong, successful individuals moving ahead.
Results
Internal response to the new look has been very positive, from staffers to executives. Surveys from the annual conference of state GED test administrators, a key audience, reported perceptions about the new materials and the new organization as “professional, excellent, informative, progressive and uplifting.”
